Description
Teroson VR 10 - Cleaner - FL (replaces VR 20) is a liquid universal cleaner and thinner based on hydrogenated hydrocarbons (without the addition of aromatics and with low n-hexane content). The product does not contain chlorinated hydrocarbons. With short-term exposure, it does not damage paints used in the automotive industry. Cleaner - FL does not slow down the curing of polyurethane-based adhesives/sealants.
The Cleaner - FL is primarily used as a degreasing and cleaning agent for surfaces before and after the application of adhesive or sealant. Thorough cleaning of surfaces before bonding is essential for perfect adhesion and involves the removal of dust, grease, and lubricants. Depending on the type of adhesive or sealant, Cleaner - FL can also be used to remove excess amounts or to wipe contaminated areas. It also effectively removes protective coatings from vehicle underbodies.
In some applications, Teroson FL is suitable as a thinner for certain adhesives/sealants and coatings. However, it must be taken into account that these materials are commonly used undiluted. Only for certain applications where a thinner consistency is needed, dilution may be desirable.
Usage: Depending on the degree of contamination, size, and shape of the cleaned components, apply Cleaner – FL and wipe with a brush, cloth, cleaning wipe, etc. To prevent unwanted contamination of the contents of the packaging, always pour the cleaner onto a cloth (do not use the method of pressing the cloth against the opening and turning the container upside down!) or pour the required amount into another container. Only pour the amount needed for cleaning and immediately reseal the packaging tightly afterwards. The cleaned component must completely dry before applying adhesive or sealant (depending on the surrounding conditions, approximately 2 – 10 minutes). Using compressed air blowing (under unfavorable conditions) can shorten the drying time. However, this method may compromise the cleaning result due to the presence of oil traces contained in the compressed air. For porous substrates, it is recommended to wait approximately 30 minutes after cleaning.
If you are cleaning residues of sealant/adhesive (e.g., after windshield replacement), it is important to familiarize yourself with the instructions for using this product.
