Description
Description
Teroson RB 4100 is primarily designed for sealing automotive glass and windshields set in rubber profiles in all types of vehicles. After the solvent evaporates, the material remains permanently plastic and elastic, ensuring high resistance to aging and extreme weather conditions. A specific property of the product is its high internal cohesion (cohesion), which exceeds its adhesion to surfaces, allowing for very easy removal of excess material without damaging the paint or glass.
Composition and functional characteristics
- Base: Butyl rubber (solvent-based rubber) with low volatile content.
- Permanent elasticity: The material does not harden after drying, remains pliable, and withstands vibrations.
- High cohesion: Excess material can be easily removed after application (approx. 10 min) by rolling it into a ball.
- Resistance: Resistant to water, glass cleaners, UV radiation, and temperature fluctuations.
- Application on wet surfaces: Ability to seal wet surfaces and joints (for contaminated substrates, the RB 4120 Elastic variant is recommended).

Areas of use / Application examples
Teroson RB 4100 is ideal for sealing both new and existing automotive glass (front, rear, and side) mounted in rubber profiles. It can be used as a sealant between the rubber profile and the body frame as well as between the rubber profile and the glass. It is also suitable for sealing metal covers, decorative strips, castings, or battery casings (battery boxes) in body construction.
