TEROSON PU 92 - 310 ML BLACK

The skin formation time and curing time depend on humidity and temperature as well as on the width of the joint. With increasing temperature and humidity, this time shortens, while low temperature and humidity values slow down the curing process.

Terostat PU 92 exhibits the following properties:

• Manufacturing of HVAC and air conditioning systems

Terostat PU 92 is used in cases where repainting the surface is important. Terostat PU 92 often replaces mechanical joining methods such as screws, rivets, and welding. During curing, the joint must be fixed. The advantage of Terostat PU 92 is that it simultaneously serves as a sealant and adhesive. Terostat PU 92 is generally not suitable for structural joints.

Adhesion:

Surfaces must be clean, dry, free of oil and grease, dust, and other contaminants. To ensure good adhesion to, for example, glass, aluminum, stainless steel, and plastics – ABS and PVC, it is recommended to use a primer Terostat – 450. Good adhesion is achieved without a primer on painted surfaces and wood. For raw sheets, it is recommended to roughen the surface. For materials not mentioned above, preliminary testing is also recommended.

Application:

From the 310ml cartridges, Terostat PU 92 can be applied using manual or air guns, from foil packaging (310 ml and 570 ml) with corresponding FK guns (manual or air). Air guns require a pressure of 2 to 5 bars. Low temperature of the sealant leads to increased viscosity, which is reflected in reduced extrusion speed. This can be prevented by tempering the sealant before processing to normal temperature. On too cold substrates, moisture condensation and dew formation may occur. This must be prevented by timely tempering. Terostat PU 92 can be smoothed with a spatula dipped in soapy water. For cleaning working tools from uncured material, use Cleaner – D.

Painting:

Terostat PU 92 can be painted in its uncured state with both single-component and two-component alkyd and acrylic coatings. Curing is not stopped by repainting, only slowed down. Repair nitro paints in sprays or paints, solvents, and accelerators containing alcohol are not compatible with Terostat PU 92 and prevent its curing.

Basic anti-corrosion coatings should only be applied to cured Terostat PU 92, as these usually prevent the diffusion of water vapor necessary for the curing of the sealant. In the case of accelerating the curing of the coating with an IR lamp or in an oven, the sealant can be heated approximately after 30 minutes, when the initial reaction subsides. Uncured sealant can be heated to a maximum of 90°C for one hour.
