Loctite SF 734 - 150 ml, Activator F for Acrylic Adhesives
Loctite SF 734 is a liquid acetone-based activator designed to accelerate the curing of Loctite anaerobic adhesives and sealants. It is essential for passive metals, inert surfaces, and applications with large gaps.
Description
Description
Loctite SF 734 is a liquid activator F based on acetone solvent, aldehyde-amine condensate, and organic copper compounds. This low-viscosity product is designed to accelerate the curing speed of Loctite anaerobic structural adhesives and sealants in cases where rapid fixation is required or where bonding of passive materials and inactive surfaces occurs.
Composition and Physical Properties:
- Chemical Base: Aldehyde-amine condensate and organic copper mixture in acetone solvent.
- Physical Form: Highly liquid with very low viscosity.
- Color Spectrum: Light yellow-green to amber (orange).
- Fixation Time: ≤ 12 seconds (tested on a microscope slide with Loctite 312 adhesive).
- Lifetime on Part: ≤ 30 minutes (the time during which the activator remains effective after application).

Main Advantages / Functional Characteristics:
- Accelerated Polymerization: Significantly increases the curing speed of anaerobic products.
- Activation of Inert Surfaces: Essential for passive metals (e.g., stainless steel, chrome surfaces) and inactive materials.
- Solution for Large Gaps: Allows reliable curing of adhesives even in cases where there is a large gap in the bonded joint.
- High Adhesion: Low viscosity ensures perfect surface coverage.
Instructions for Use:
- Clean surfaces of grease and dirt. For heavily soiled surfaces, special cleaner may be necessary.
- Spray or brush the activator onto both surfaces intended for bonding. For very small gaps, treating only one side is sufficient.
- Allow the solvent to completely evaporate in a well-ventilated area until the surface is dry.
- After the solvent has evaporated, perform bonding within 30 minutes. Avoid contamination of the treated surface.
- Apply anaerobic adhesive to the non-activated surface (if the activator was applied only to one side) or to one of the activated sides.
- Join the parts and, if possible, briefly move them against each other for optimal spreading of the adhesive.
- Fix the assembly and leave it undisturbed until handling strength is achieved.
