Loctite 573 is a flat gasket that is particularly suitable for use where a long curing time and installation time are advantageous, especially for difficult-to-assemble parts. Once cured without air access in the joint between bonded metal surfaces, Loctite 573 achieves medium strength and prevents the leakage of liquids and gases. A significant advantage is that this gasket prevents direct contact between flange metal surfaces, thus avoiding contact corrosion. Another benefit is its thixotropic nature, which prevents dripping from the application site. We recommend using Loctite 573 as a locally created gasket primarily on rigid flange joints, typically on gearboxes, engine housings, and similar applications.
