The Loctite 243 product is designed for securing and sealing threaded connections that can be disassembled using standard hand tools. The product cures without access to air in the gap between bonded metal surfaces, thus preventing loosening or leakage of the joint caused by vibrations and shocks. Loctite 243 is particularly recommended for less active surfaces, such as stainless steel or plated surfaces, and wherever disassembly with hand tools is necessary during repairs. The thixotropic nature of the product prevents it from running off the application site.
The product is not recommended for use in oxygen systems, nor for sealing chlorine or other strongly oxidizing materials. The product is also not suitable for plastic materials.
